Blackbird Coffee Palur

This cafe has its pros and cons, but it is very comfortable for working. Let's go through the pros first.

First, it's located near the UNS campus and just beside the Solo-Tawangmangu main road, making it a strategic location for students and everyone because of its easy access. Next, we got various setting options, from individual to group, indoor smoking area, to sitting on the floor.

I visited this cafe twice, because of its location, and just wanted to check more of its condition. On the first visit, I ordered a Black Day coffee – their signature, and a Beef & Egg Toast. The coffee tastes like standard Tuku-ish milk coffee. I don't know why this type of coffee is very popular in the Solo area. On the 2nd visit, I ordered a Magic, which was surprisingly very affordable and tasted really good!

The internet is also stable for working, reaching around 32 Mbps, which was enough for me. One thing to note is that this cafe is usually not too crowded (I liked it). The ambiance was pretty good, too. It's very comfortable for working. At first, the music isn't too loud, but after several hours of working, it feels a bit too loud, not sure if they increased the volume or anything.

Now let's go to the cons. The maintenance. I feel like this cafe really needs to upgrade its maintenance game. First, the power outlet on the table isn't working, which was very sad because I really like the seating!!!! The wood feels very sturdy. Alas, I had to move the seating to sit on the floor instead. Second, the broken fence nearly ripped my pants when I tried to move my seating… You know, the iron net fence – I think it's broken because people lean on it. Third, there was only 1 working toilet. The other one was used for an ablution place. For a cafe that big, having only 1 toilet is quite tight. They provide free sanitary napkins, though 👍.

The last one is the prayer room. It's spacious, but the lights were dim, so it gives an unmaintained feeling. The floor was also slippery, it feels like when you try to mop, but you used too much soap. I went to this cafe twice, and the condition hasn't changed.

The parking area is just okay, but in peak hours, you might have a hard time using the parking lot since it's just roadside.
